DBE Proposed 2025 School Calendar – Call for comments on the Proposed 2025 school calendar for public schools.
The proposed 2025 calendar for public schools has been published. Stakeholder bodies and members of the public are invited to submit their comments on the proposed calendar by 4 September 2022.
Angelina Matsie Motshekga, Minister of Basic Education, acting in terms of section 3(4)(k) of the National Education Policy Act, 1996, and after consultation with the Council of Education Ministers, invites stakeholder bodies and members of the public to comment on the Proposed 2025 School Calendar.

About DBE
The Department of Basic Education was formed when the former National Department of Education was split into two: Department of Basic Education and the Department of Higher Education and Training. The DBE deals with all schools from Grade R to Grade 12, including adult literacy programmes. The aim of the DBE is to develop, maintain and support a South African school education system for the 21st century.
