NIRA Confirmation Letter 2023-2024. The National Identification and Registration Authority is a government-owned organisation in Uganda, mandated to register births and deaths in the country and to develop a National Identification Register for both citizens and legally resident non-citizens.

- Must have registered for period of 4 months and above
- Payment of shs. 1000 for each letter in the bank. Visit a nearby Bank and inform them that you’d like to pay for NIRA Confirmation of Information. Please do not forget to come with your receipt.
NIRA Change of Particulars
Spelling Error and Correction of Date of Birth (Day & Month)
- Statutory Declaration Duly Registered by Uganda Registration Services Bureau(URSB)
- Supporting Documents like Birth, Baptism, Marriage Certificates, Academic Documents, work Documents and any other official documents depending on the case
- Payment Receipt of shs. 50,000. Visit a nearby Bank and inform them that you’d like to pay for NIRA Change of Particulars. Please come with your receipt.
Adding/Dropping a Name
- Deed Poll, Duly Registered By Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) Uganda Gazette (As Required According to Section 36 of the Registration Of Persons Act [ROPA] 2015)
- Supporting Documents like Birth, Baptism, Marriage Certificates, Academic Documents, work Documents and any other official documents depending on the case.
- Payment Receipt of shs. 50,000. Visit a nearby Bank and inform them that you’d like to pay for NIRA Change of Particulars. Please come with your receipt.
Changing place of Residence
- A Letter from the L.C 1 Chairperson, duly Stamped by the DISO (Include Telephone Contacts), confirming Citizenship, Current Residence and the period of time Applicant has stayed at the said Residence.

Citizens by Birth
- Copy of National ID of Both Parents (If Parents are Alive)
- Recommendation Letter from LC 1 Chairman Stating Clearly That Applicant Is Known Indicating
- Applicant’s Names
- Details of Parents
- Tribe and Clan
- The Letter Should be signed with official stamp of LC1 Chairperson (Include Telephone Contact) and DISO
Citizens by Registration
- Certified copies of relevant certificates issued by DCIC
- Certificate of Dual citizenship and passport of current country
- Certificate of citizenship by naturalization
- Certificate of citizenship by registration
- Passport where relevant and any other supporting documents
- NID of parents for dual citizens if available
