NISR Announcement Today July 2022. The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) was created in October 2005 as an independent institution out of the former Department of Statistics in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN) and the National Service of Census.
To assume the leading role in improving capacity to use information for evidence based decision-making by coordinating national effort to collect and archive reliable data, to analyze, document and disseminate data within an integrated and sustainable framework.
To develop and sustain a culture of excellence in statistical production and management of national development

This August, Rwanda will conduct its 5th National Population and Housing Census.
The last census was carried out in 2012, and findings released a total population of 10,515,973 Rwandans. Be counted because you count.
The fifth Population and Housing Census in Rwanda, will be conducted in August 2022. The Census operation is being coordinated by the National Census Commission. Various census technical and administrative structures have been put in place to ensure a successful census operation.
