About PSLE

PSLE (Primary School Leaving Examination) in Tanzania is conducted by the National Examination Council Of Tanzania (NECTA) in the second week of September every year. This is a selection test, candidates get admission to secondary school. Students who get selected in this PSLE exam government awarded a certificate.

Any student who has finished standard seven in any school (public or private) is entitled to enrol for and take the NECTA PSLE 2022 examination.

Hisabati (mathematics), English Language, Sayansi (science), Maarifa ya Jamii (social studies), and Kiswahili are the courses that are tested at PSLE.

The main goals of PSLE are to assess learning abilities and knowledge that should be acquired in the various subjects at the primary school level; to assess students’ comprehension of the fundamental skills and help them become better readers, writers, and mathematicians so that they can use these abilities to solve real-world problems.

How to Check PSLE Results 2022/2023?

Through its official website, the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) launched an online results system in 2016. (https://www.necta.go.tz). Tanzanian students can now view their psle 2022/2023 results online. See the steps for getting the result online below.

Visit www.necta.go.tz in step one.
Step 2: Select “Search” from the submenu after locating “Result” in the main menu.
Step 3: The “Search Result” window, which is displayed below, will open.
Step 4: Choose 2022 as your “Year” to receive PSLE Results 2022/2023.
Step 5: Select PSLE under “Exam Type.”
Fill in your “Candidate number” at step six.
The last step is to click “Request.”

PSLE School Rankings

PSLE schools are ranked based on the average total marks of the school which is computed by summing the total scores of each candidate in all five examination subjects divide by the total number of students who sat for the examination in that school. This average score ranges from 0 to 250, the higher the average the higher the performance.
