PYEI Phase 4 Application – Applications for Phase 4 of the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative in the basic education sector will open on Monday, 26 September 2022.

The Presidential Youth Employment Intervention (PYEI) is a part of the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme. PYEI is a multi-sector action plan/ programme directed at addressing South Africa’s chronic youth unemployment challenge.

PYEI Phase 4 application, The third phase of the presidential youth employment initiative (PYEI) implemented as Basic education employment initiative (BEEI) has been making a good progress as it ends towards completion many people would like to know the updates regarding the phase 4.

Since its launch in 2020, more than half a million young South Africans have participated in the programme that was initiated to assist young people seeking employment during the height of the pandemic.

Early this year the Department of Basic Education (DBE) announced that the programme will be extended and the applications for phase 4 of the employment initiative will open on 22 September 2022.

The programme gives young people between the ages of 18-35 an opportunity to learn and gain skills and knowledge which they can then use to pursue future careers and employment.

The department has stressed that in order to make space available for other unemployed youth seeking employment and skills development, anyone who has already participated in the programme will not be allowed to reapply.

The department has urged new applicants to register their details on the www.sayouth.mob system. The system is easy to navigate and is zero rated, so it does not include any data costs.

• Reset via SMS works only if you use the same phone number that you registered with.

• Reset with a security question will be available only if you enabled it on your previous visit to the website.

Deadline for Submission of Application

The closing date for submission of PYEI Phase 4 Applications is 16 October 2022.

Interviews with shortlisted applicants will be held during November and December 2022. Successful candidates will start in February 2023.
